Challenge
There is a shortage of skilled manpower as a result of the increasing export of labor, which has developed a massive deficit of available skilled manpower. Most of the skilled workers prefer long-term jobs, so it is hard to find on-demand service for maintenance tasks. The workers are often not technologically savvy, making it challenging to introduce digital solutions for service booking. Customers also experience problems with lack of timeliness, inconsistent quality of service, and opacity of prices, leading to frustration and distrust.
Results
To solve these issues, Mistri offers a digital platform linking users to qualified professionals for electrical, plumbing, and cleaning services. With easy navigation, service monitoring, and personalized suggestions, the app guarantees efficiency, budget-friendly rates, and transparency. A strong review mechanism establishes trust, while comparative studies and testing provide maximum usability. With both cash and digital payment options accepted, Mistri prioritizes accessibility, quality, and dedication to closing Nepal's skilled labor gap with trustworthy home maintenance services.
Process
Discovery
Mistri's study discovered that Nepali homeowners are unable to find dependable, reasonably priced handymen for the occasional repair. The traditional method is secretive, with variable pricing and quality. Customers desire rapid, guaranteed access to electric, plumbing, and cleaning services.
Ideation
We created information architecture, user flows, and low-fi wireframes with emphasis on: 1) Quick booking 2) Transparent pricing 3) Technician verification 4) Real-time tracking - all as per Nepal's mobile usage patterns and literacy levels.
Create
We created high-fidelity wireframes for screens such as the homepage, booking process, packages, and notifications. Consistent design systems were used with a distinct color scheme and Roboto font for legibility. Visual hierarchy and feedback were prioritized to lead users intuitively through the app.
Measure
We found out through user testings that users were able to navigate the app easily and make bookings for core services such as cleaning. Some, however, found the "packages" section of the service confusing, which led to a redesign of the way that options and value were presented. These results informed final tweaks to ensure the app was living up to its promise.
